So two weeks ago today I decided that I was sick of being a fat, depressed, unhealthy insomniac with no energy and decided to do something about it after a lifetime of neglecting my health.
I quit smoking, fast food/take away/processed food, alcohol (although I rarely drank anyway), carbonated/sugary drinks in general, chocolate/sweets, red meat, and have been going cold turkey since.
I also took up drinking 1.5 - 2 litres of water a day, concentrating on incorporating my 5-a-day into my diet, filling my shopping list with good healthy food instead of the usual crap I would eat and going for long walks every day.
I’ve never felt as good physically and mentally or as positive about something in my life. I’m genuinely enjoying eating healthily and trying new things with my diet and don’t miss any of the things I gave up. I’m sleeping better than I ever have before and no longer feel like I’m constantly drained of energy.
I’m so happy I decided to do this and can’t wait to see where it takes me. It’s amazing what willpower and determination can do :)
